Music

Sam composes music reflexively whilst writing. This is a stim which helps her to process what she is writing and thinking about. She has a commitment to speak to what is true, making use of the range of creative devices that she has available to her to make work that tells each story in the truest way. Sam’s compositions are significantly language based, and she has a particular passion for using interdisciplinary methods to artistically assist marginalised or silenced voices. She is classically trained but has a keen interest in using minimalist and experimental techniques as a way of interrogating the something else of the written and spoken word, as is the task of the meaning-making human imagination.
